Speed Scrap and My First Kit!

I am hosting a Speed Scrap on Sunday at Stuff to Scrap and trust me, you won't want to miss this one!

Here is your PP - It's a really beautiful ;) kit made by Yours Truly. Yep, my first kit. She's called Flutterby and you can get the entire thing tomorrow at the Speed Scrap! That's 15 papers and 31 elements plus an Alpha just for playing with me on a Sunday afternoon (and for forgiving me for cutting out after the first hour for a family dinner with the inlaws!) Oh, and forgive the insane shadows on this preview - they aren't that crazy! For some reason when I resize my LOs the shadows don't size with it....

*Not all shown!

Website Wednesday: A Challenge

Today's Website Wednesday is less about the site and more about the man behind it and his inspiring journey and challenge to all.

Last week, I had the opportunity to work with Chris Ayers at our local Blood Cancer Survivor Night put on by my office. Chris is a leukemia survivor himself, and has challenged himself to draw a picture every day. He started these images on the one-year anniversary of his diagnosis and has not missed a day. May 12 was day 1,138 - and he's still going strong! His pictures are amazing as is his story.

During his presentation at our event, he challenged everyone in attendance to take on a challenge. Do something everyday for yourself. Find something you love doing and make the time for it. Chris shared stories of days he was sick, days he was so tired he just wanted to climb into bed and days he had climbed into bed, only to awaken at 11:55 remembering he had a drawing to do! He hasn't let anything stop him from drawing every day. It's a reminder for him of what he loves to do and a reminder of a life that he could have lost, had it not been for organizations like The Luekemia & Lymphoma Society who put money into research for new medications to help people like Chris survive.

Check out Chris's Web site, take a look at some of his drawings from The Daily Zoo and then think about accepting the challenge. What can you do every single day for yourself?

For me, this year it's my project 365 - I think I'll continue each year with a version of this project. It might not always be pictures - but something to remember each day by. What is your goal?

TT Tuesday (even though it's Wed!) & SS

Blogger wouldn't cooperate for me yesterday, I got a "this page does not exist" message when visiting blogger.com - but it seems to be working today!

For TT Tuesday I want to introduce my newest Team Member. Due to some changes in my requirements, some of my team has moved into guest status and I felt the need to add one more face - so I asked Deanna of FlowerScraps.

Here's what she had to say about herself: "Deanna Jones is the designer behind Flower Scraps. She got into Digital Scrapbooking for almost a year now and designing almost as long. She loves the freedom that comes from digital scrapbooking! She has 3 kids ages 4, 2 1/2, and 1. She also has one on the way! This busy momma enjoys playing with her kids and scrapping their adorable pictures!! She has been married to the most incredible man on the planet for 6 1/2 years now. She got her Bachelors Degree from BYU in History Teaching.... :P"

Deanna designs beautiful kits too - if you haven't checked out her blog, you should. She's got a great freebie up for you this week too. (I heart the bubble wand -_O)

She had some quick turnaround for me too - I sent her Template Set 5 (available here) earlier this week and she already sent me this adorable LO of her oldest getting her ear's pierced. (And, her daughter helped with this LO too picked all of the elements for Deanna to use). Something else fun about her is that she does her LO's in 8.5x11 - so all you rectangle scrappers - here's some great inspiration!

Welcome to the TT Deanna, so glad to have you on board!

I am working on a few new things to share with you all soon - I promise! I have a CU set of elements coming up and a fun project for you too!

Also - SS today at STS.

The prize is an adorable Basic Alpha - you NEED it for your collection, trust me! Check in here for the SS

That's right, I am closing the doors of my store at One Single Seed and will be designing exclusively for Stuff to Scrap. But, I am giving you all a chance to shop before I close up

Welcome!

Sorry! I hate to make you change all of your links and such to get to my site - but I figured, why not! Nibbles Skribbles was available and so I decided to go for it. All of my old posts are here, including all of the freebies you have come to love! I hope to have a new one up for you this weekend to thank you for putting up with my move!

Anyways, welcome to the new Nibbles Skribbles site!

Website Wednesday: Tilt Shift Your Photos

I found this link today, a fun photo editing web site called Tilt Shift. It creates the effect of a 3D model from your picture - the site has some tips for choosing a great photo. Here's one I did - not the best example but the best I could find quickly (I wanted to try)! What do you think? Does the second picture look like a model horse and carriage? Regardless, it really enhanced the photo - made the focus on the carriage instead of the streetsign, which is what I originally wanted. Now, let's see what you can tilt shift!

TT Tuesday

Day Three and still on a roll! Today is TT (Template Team) Tuesday an I am going to show off a few LOs done by my awesome team who I don't give nearly enough credit too! These LO's are all from my newest template set, Set #5 - available at STS for 30% off during the Grand Opening Sale!

I had a guest CT for this set - Joanna and here is what she had to say about herself:
I live in Michigan with my wonderful husband and two sweet girls. I have been scrapbooking traditionally for about 10 years and have only recently started digi scrapping. I am IN LOVE with digi scrapping for so many reasons...not as expensive as traditional scrapbooking, takes less time than traditional scrapbooking and I feel I can be a little more creative, to name a few. My inspiration for scrapbooking are my children. I want them to look back at their scrapbooks and be able to tell how much I love them.

Here's her LO using Raspberry Lemonade by Just for you Digi Scraps

Kori did this awesome LO using a freebie kit this week by ScrappyCocoa and FlowerScraps called Home Grown (more on this kit to follow later this week)

Here is a gorgeous LO by Ellay using Only in my Dreams by The Latest Scoop, Too

And the last template in the set is shown off by Steph using Midnight Sun by Moo Designs

In Loving Memory

I have received hundreds of emails, comments and messages from all of you offering your condolences and asking if there is anything you can do. I thought I would offer the opportunity for you to make a donation, in memory of my grandmother, to a wonderful organization here in Minnesota. It's called N.C. Little Hospice. It's where my grandmother spent her last few weeks, and is truly a remarkable place. It is entirely run by volunteers and volunteer nurses and is a home for those who are living their last days. They have 8 private rooms, places for family to rest, relax and sleep. Snacks and food available for both patient and family members. It is truly a fantastic place, and much nicer then a hospital room. There aren't nearly enough places like this around and as it is entirely volunteer run, they depend on donations to keep the place running.

If you would like to make a donation in memory of my grandmother, please click the button below to pay via pay pal. 100% of funds received will be donated in memory of Liz - a wonderful and loving person.

100% of donations will go to NC Little Hospice

Real Quick

Good Morning all -

First, I want to thank Steph for being such a great friend and posting for me yesterday. You're awesome Steph and I really appreciate you and your awesome voice!

Next, I want to thank everyone who has left a comment or sent an email Your thoughts and support mean the world to me. I am lucky to be a part of such a wonderful community.

I am doing alright. i have had a couple of break downs, but I need to be strong and make it through. There are lots of decisions to make and things to get done. My grandmother was a wonderful woman and will be missed every day. I doubt I'll be around much this week - but who knows, I might need a break from reality and pop in to check up!

I wanted to remind you all of the A Mother's Moments blog train (get my freebie in the post below) that's going on - but act fast these freebies are only free for two weeks before they go into my stores.

Next I wanted to remind you of the Life's Inspiration download a day that starts today at the Stuff to Scrap blog I suggest scrolling down a post or two to pick up a really fun calendar freebie too! (Steph -can you make a post about the calendar in the forum? Thanks!)

Those of you who participated in the challenges at STS's NSD party this weekend - thanks! We had a great turn out and a ton of fun! I will get you the download links for the brag book pages as soon as I can. I will also have all gift cards sent out by the time the store officially opens May 11.

Sad News...

Hey guys, it's me, Steph aka ScrappyCocoa. Just sneaking on to Manda's blog to cause some chaos! Just Kidding, I just wanted to pop in and say that Manda has had a death in the family and won't be around much the next few days. I know she has some goodies planned, but they are going to be a little late. So please just be patient and keep Manda in your thoughts. And while your waiting for the return of our favorite Template Maker, why not pop over to her store and buy a few, ya know to make her feel better. Ok she didn't authorize that last statement, but it never hurts to shamelessly advertise! :D

NSD Fun -

I have been busy already today -

First, I completed a LO for the I Scrap Because challenge at STS (you can also enter your LO for this at The Daily Digi)

Alright, here's mine:

I used Sweet Spring by Sarah Bennet
Journaling:
...I don’t know enough about my grandparents, parents or even my own childhood. I have a hard time remembering what happened yesterday, much less a few years ago. I want to remember. I wamt my kids, grandkids and other family to remember. I like pretty things to look at. I enjoy having a hobby. I enjoy the friends I have made. I love to be creative. I love pictures. I digital scrap because it’s faster, easier and less messy and I paper scrap for the feeling. I scrap for my son, my husband, future generations, my mom, my brothers, my family, my friends. I scrap for inspiration to others and for the feeling of pride I get upon finishing a great page. I scrap because it’s fun and I enjoy it. I scrap because I want to. I scrap because I need to. I scrap because capturing our memories and preserving them is one of my responsibilities and I will not take that for granted. I scrap to learn new things, meet new people and explore the possibilities. I scrap because I want to. I scrap because I like to, NO! I scrap because I LOVE it and that is reason enough!

Then I did a Speed Scrap! Thanks for the fun Ellay! Heres my Lo

For this I used Boys Just Wanna Have Fun by Wet Fish Designs

Remember - All sorts of fun all day today at Stuff to Scrap!
